About us

Our business is offshore construction. With a highly experienced, skilled and up-to-date technical team, we develop the best and most advanced solutions according to the customers’ needs. Also, as part of the Group of companies led by TS Participações e Investimentos S.A. (TSPI), we are connected to a global network with more than 6,500 professionals working in offices in Brazil, Japan, India, the United States, Canada, Venezuela, Europe, Russia, Iran, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and South Korea.

We work on EPC mode. In this way, we conduct all phases of the project – detailing, management, supplies, construction, assembly, integration and commissioning – of several types of floating units for offshore oil and gas production, such as FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading), semi-submersible platforms, and fixed units.

We provide tailored services such as the manufacture and integration of modular plants in FPSO at our shipyard located in southern Brazil.

We also carry out the repair and modification of marine units installed at its offshore operation site, as well as the repair, maintenance and docking of platforms and vessels at our shipyard.

Installed in an area of 1.7 million square meters in the city of São José do Norte, at the Offshore Naval Pole in Rio Grande (RS), a geographical area that is strategic for our business, our shipyard has extensive facilities and a complete infrastructure, which allows us to execute several projects simultaneously.

A capacity to process 30 thousand tons per year in our structure manufacturing areas (workshop), pipe shop, air-conditioned blasting and painting workshop, and external assembly area. These and other facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and cranes.

With a 530-meter length pier and a 12-meter deep draft, we can perform integration services for FPSO platforms and also offer docking and lay-up services for other types of units. We are prepared to assist with the load in and load out of large modules, and we have already done the load-in of a module with approx. 2,900 tons.

Location of EBR Shipyard

The EBR Shipyard is located in the city of São José do Norte in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, on the shores of Lagoa dos Patos, with an access channel to the Atlantic Ocean.

The city of São José do Norte was strategically chosen for having suitable terrain characteristics for the implementation of an offshore shipyard for the construction of platforms, in addition to being inserted in the Rio Grande hub, whose port is one of the main ones in the country.

The municipality of São José do Norte is about 360 km away from Porto Alegre, capital of the state of RS. It has about 25,000 inhabitants and its economy is geared towards fishing, planting onions and reforestation.

Our differentiated performance has been recognized by several awards.

For the performance on the FPSO P-74 project, we received the "Petrobras Best Suppliers 2018" Prize in the "Engineering works" category, also including the "Construction and Assembly" subcategory. This award recognizes the performance of suppliers in delivering products and services, based on the criteria of quality, schedule, good management practices, alignment with QHSE standards, compliance and integrity.

Award for "Innovations in the Integration of Engineering Projects", at the AVEVA World Summit 2014 event, in Germany. In 2019, AVEVA acknowledged the progress in our digital platform by giving us a second prize, awarded during the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, United States.

Also in 2019, the EPC Portal was praised by the ABERIMEST (Brazilian Association of Engineering and Telecommunications and Infrastructure/IT Professionals).
